THE SMALLEST FEDERAL RESERVE IN RUSSIA MARKS ITS
75TH ANNIVERSARY
The smallest federal reserve in Russia – the Galichya Gora Nature Reserve (Lipetsk Region) – is now 75 years old. The contribution of this scientific and environmental institute to nature conservation and the research of flora and fauna of the Central Black Earth Region, as well as to the education and skill formation of biologists, cannot be overstated and in any case belies the modest size of the reserve. Suffice it to say that the herbarium of the Galichya Gora Reserve rivals those of many Russian universities.
Our sincere congratulations to the staff of the reserve on this anniversary and best wishes for further achievements in this hard but necessary work.
